"LOVELY B&B" Reviewed 10 April 2013
I stayed here on business, rather than use a chain hotel and got a lovely welcome from the owner, Penny Rasch. My single room (4) was in front of the house but set well back from the main road. Penny had gone to the trouble of providing an excellent tea tray with 4-5 different teas, several coffees and chocolate together with more than enough biscuits. The shower room was small, but in a single room not a problem with decent toiletries and soft towels. I had a good night's sleep on the comfy bed, bigger than the standard single bed.

There is a cosy drawing room downstairs with TV, books to read and lots of local information. A nice room to spend time rather than the bedroom, with the addition of free WiFi. I wasn't aware when I booked that homemade dinner was available and used the adjacent Orchard pub that provided an excellent steak dinner.

I only had a light breakfast but the buffet selection of cereals, fresh fruit, good fruit juices, yogurts puts a lot of other establishments to shame. The extensive cooked breakfast looked great with the usual fry up and extras such as porridge and omelette, all cooked to order by the friendly hostess Penny.

The B&B takes dogs but there is no evidence of doggy smells in this very clean establishment. There's a huge front garden with table and chairs that I should imagine would be a nice place to enjoy a drink on a warm day.

Would I return? Yes whenever I get down to this part of the world again. Penny has obviously spent a lot of time considering what works, and yet managed to keep prices reasonable.
